Terms of Service.
Plain-English rules for how Pivot works, what we promise, and what we don’t. Please read them — we wrote them so you actually could.
Acceptance of these terms
By creating a Pivot account, sending a message to our WhatsApp assistant, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Pivot.
These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Pivot Football Pty Ltd(ABN to be confirmed), the Australian entity that operates Pivot (“Pivot”, “we”, “us”).
What Pivot is
Pivot is a youth football parent education platform that delivers:
- The Tribune — written articles, audio, and video about youth football.
- An AI Assistant — accessible via WhatsApp and the Pivot web app.
- Pro Requests — structured help with specific parenting questions.
- Tools for tracking your child’s context and progression.
Our mission is to give parents reliable, science-based, and structured information so they can make decisions based on facts, not fear.
Not professional advice
If your child is in distress, injured, or you have a clinical concern, contact a registered health professional or, in an emergency, dial 000 (Australia) or your local emergency number.
Content from the AI Assistant — including suggestions about nutrition, sleep, training load, growth, mental wellbeing, and club selection — is general information only. It does not consider your specific medical, legal, or financial circumstances.
Eligibility & accounts
Who can use Pivot
You must be at least 18 years old and the parent, guardian, or authorised carer of a minor playing youth football. Pivot is designed for adults; it is not directed at children under 13.
Account information
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account, and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for the security of your account credentials and any activity under your account.
Information about your child
When you add information about your child (age, club, position, growth stage, training load), you confirm that you have the legal authority to do so as their parent or guardian. We treat this information with care — see our Privacy Policy.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Pivot to harass, bully, threaten, or harm any person, including coaches, clubs, officials, or other parents.
- Submit content that is illegal, defamatory, hateful, or sexually explicit.
- Impersonate another person, club, or official.
- Attempt to circumvent paywalls, rate limits, or access controls.
- Reverse engineer, scrape at scale, or extract our content to train competing AI systems.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit Pivot content without our written permission.
- Use Pivot to provide regulated professional advice (medical, legal, financial) to others.
AI-generated content
The AI Assistant generates responses dynamically. We design, tune, and ground it in our editorial library — but AI output can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. You are responsible for applying judgement before acting on any AI response.
Where the Assistant cites a Tribune article, the article is the authoritative source. If a Tribune article and the AI response disagree, trust the article.
We may use anonymised, aggregated conversation data to improve the service. We do not train third-party AI models on your personal data without your consent. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Intellectual property
Pivot owns all rights to the platform, the Tribune library, the brand, the design system, and the editorial voice. You may not copy, redistribute, or republish Pivot content without our written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use.
Sharing a single article link with another parent is fine. Mirroring our library on another site, training models on it, or packaging it into a competing product is not.
Your content & input
You own the messages, questions, profile data, and other content you submit to Pivot. By submitting it, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, transmit, and display that content for the purpose of providing and improving the service.
You can delete your content at any time from your account settings or by contacting us. See the Privacy Policy for how we handle deletion across our systems and sub-processors.
Third-party services
Pivot is built on top of trusted third-party services. Your use of Pivot is also subject to their terms:
- WhatsApp / Meta — for messaging via the WhatsApp Business API.
- Supabase — for database, authentication, and storage.
- Vercel — for hosting and content delivery.
- OpenAI and/or Anthropic — for AI inference.
- Stripe — for payment processing (when subscriptions are enabled).
- Resend or equivalent — for transactional email.
We choose providers carefully and pass through only the data needed to deliver the feature you’re using.
Subscriptions & payment
Pivot offers free and paid tiers. Pricing, billing frequency, and what each tier includes are shown at sign-up and in your account settings. Where paid tiers are enabled:
- Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.
- You can cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
- We don’t offer pro-rata refunds for partial periods, except where required by Australian Consumer Law.
- Prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) unless stated otherwise and are inclusive of GST where applicable.
Termination
You may close your account at any time from your settings. We may suspend or close an account that violates these Terms, creates legal risk for us, or is being used in a way that harms other users.
On termination, paid subscriptions stop renewing, and your access to subscriber-only content ends at the end of the current billing period. Personal data is handled per our Privacy Policy.
Warranties & liability
Subject to Australian Consumer Law (see next section), Pivot is provided “as is”. We don’t warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI responses will be accurate, complete, or fit for any specific purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Pivot is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) AUD $100.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profit, data, or opportunity, even if we’ve been advised of the possibility.
Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our service comes with statutory guarantees that can’t be excluded, our liability is limited (where the law allows) to re-supplying the service or refunding the price you paid for it.
Disputes & governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You and Pivot agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales for any dispute arising from your use of the service.
Before commencing legal proceedings, please contact us — most issues we can resolve in a single email.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we’ll notify you by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continuing to use Pivot after the effective date counts as acceptance of the updated Terms.
